Pixton Pixton lets you create your own comic strip without having to draw anything by hand. Although this is a free site, it is limited. We do have a subscription where teachers can set up a classroom situation with projects. Best part is that teachers can control what is posted both in comic form and comment form. Great success using this program. Tic-Tac-Toe Technology This link is to the Science Fiction Unit Mr. Scoville and Mrs. Champeau worked with various technology skills. Set up as a tic-tac-toe board, students made a choice as to which projects they did. Great example of differentiation and student excitement. Padlet Probably the best new tool I have found. It is a virtual sticky note wall for students to post repsonses. Very quick and easy to use--free account set up needed and will store and save them and the results. Wordle Wordle is a tool for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently i the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. No account needed. Animoto Animoto automatically produces beautifully orchistrated, completely unique video pieces from your photos, video clips, and music. Free account/Education account set up. Audacity Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. No account needed. Great for booktalks and podcasts. Awesome Highlighter Paste the link into this site and the arrow turns to a highlighter. This is great to work on summary skills or notetaking. Cool Tools for Schools The best one-stop-shop for project outcomes with a technology twist. Decide what you really want the outcome to be and select that grouping. The site will then list free tools to use to get results for that outcome. Give it a try!!! Fur.ly--Shortened url for muliple sites you approve This awesome site allows you to put in multiple urls. It will then create ONE short url for all of your sites. Great for research projects on a topic. Safe sites you have inspected can be linked together. Students then can click through them like a sideshow. Garageband--Mac tool Your own recording studio. If you want to learn an instrument, write music, or record a song, Garageband can help---whether you're a rookie or a rockstar. Musicians wnated--No experience needed. No account needed.
